Summer is here and we are going to be doing a couple camps this year.
Last Summer's Recording & Songwriting Classes was awesome The students in our Recording & Songwriting Classes came up with amazing tunes and used colors to guide their inspirations more specifically. There were a variety of colors covered and some made it to our website like: Green ("Natural Love" by Rex) and White ("Spirit" by Terra Angela). The RockITs performed at Power to the Peaceful alongside the Mecca Circus. It was an amazing time at this 80,000 person festival and the kids did an amazing job with their set! Summer is a time for space and time to write and record songs. We are going to have a Rock Band Camp this year along with another Recording & Songwriting Camp. For each camp, we need at least 4-6 students. If you have a group of people that want to do a Rock Band Camp or a Recording & Songwriting Camp, please let us know by filling out our information sign-up sheet. Please make sure you secure your slot as early as possible, since classes fill up quickly! Students in each time slot from the previous year are given priority until one week before first day of class. Please sign up for the waiting list, if you are waiting for a closed class.
We are offering two camps this summer:
Rock Band Camp - July 11th-15th
10am-3PM Monday - Friday
Classes will be held at our Marina District Location near the intersection of Buchanan and Union Streets.
SF Rock Band Camp is a place where people will learn the necessary skills to work in a team environment, where everybody's participation and focus count towards the whole band's end result. There will be a concert on Friday July 15th at 2:30PM to conclude the week's activities and to show what each member has learned. We will be rocking out for everyone to see.
Each member in each band has a very important role on their team, and it's important to be able to get a long and work well with others. It is an amazing thing to watch kids play music together. It can be tough at times watching others, but being in Band Camp allows each child their own unique way to express themselves and grow into a great team builder and worker. We teach the importance of working together and supporting each other with a positive attitude.
Cost for Rock Band Camp is $350/child for the week. We must have at least 4 members in each band and can have up to 7 members in each band.
Instruments covered are: Guitar, Piano/Keys, Voice, Drums, Bass, and even Violin. If you play another instrument than is listed, please let us know and we can see how we can get you in one of our bands. All instruments are welcome, but not all instruments may be taught individually by each of our teachers. Please inquire about any other instruments than are on our list.

Songwriting & Recording Camp - July 25th - 29th
10am-3PM
Classes will be held in our Marina District Location and will be focusing on writing songs from scratch using conventional methods (such as verse, chorus, bridge) along with non-conventional methods, such as writing songs from the inspiration of colors. After we write our songs, we will be choosing one song to record and produce a single from for this summer's camp. Each member will be guided through the recording process from tracking basics to looping to overdubbing to mixing and on down to adding effects to those tracks you would like to mix in extra special sounds for the final version.
